  • 1. Evaluation Question 3 Hannah McLaughlin What have you learned from your audience feedback?

2. Our final music video 3. Editing and Filming Throughout our editing and filming of our final music video, as a group we asked our class mates to comment on different shots and editing techniques. We found this very useful as they helped us improve on our final outcome. We found what looked good and what didnt. From asking our class mates, we were able to professionalise our music video, allowing our final outcome to look polished and to also meet the conventions of real media products of the same genre. 4. Audience Feedback Our media showcase evening was hugely helpful when conducing audience feedback. Our music video was shown to our media class, students from different years, teachers and parents. Below you can see some comments that were given back to us after the showing. 5. Facebook I decided to use a social media site to get some feedback from different types of audiences. 6. Feedback from Facebook Here is some feedback I received: 7. Survey I created a survey to carry out some more research into our audience feedback. I asked different people to fill it out and give us a response to the questions. I found that we mostly gained positive feedback, a few criticisms that we could of improved on but mainly a great success in our final product. Here are the questions and responses we received: 8. Comments on Feedback Overall, we got some really positive feedback and it was really good to see the comments made about our editing as we spent so long on it and we really tried to make it all look professional. We wanted to make sure it ran through smoothly. By the comments received, our audience clearly agrees! I am pleased with the negative feedback. A lot of it was about the lip syncing, which is a pretty hard job to do so I am not too disappointed with the comments! It shows that we could of worked harder on getting the lip syncing precise and to look as professional as possible. 9. Rudimental As a group we decided to email Rudimentals management to see if they would take a look at our music video. I am pleased with their response which is shown below: 10. What I have learnt Through the different techniques used to get some audience feedback for our A2 music video, I have learnt a lot. Our target audiences responses has proved to us that the flashing lights and quick editing effects suit the music genre and keeps the audience focused on the product itself. I have learnt that the audience enjoy a narrative, especially one that is slightly disturbing! Hair/make-up and costume play a massive part in the music video. The audience like to see the role being played out exactly to the stereotype. 11. What I have learnt The link between the narrative and song lyrics allows the understanding of the narrative to run easily. I have learnt that if you choose to do a song and involve lip syncing, you do have to get it perfect otherwise the audience will find it hard to enjoy. I have learnt that I as the actress should of practiced more with the lip syncing and as a group we should of worked harder to edit those shots to make it look more realistic and professional. 12. What I have learnt Overall, we received a lot of positive feedback and I think we did a really great job. Our feedback proves that we were successful with our editing, which individually we all worked so hard to get it perfect. We have a few negative comments about the lip syncing which we have learnt from. I am happy with the criticisms as it could have been much worse! We were told that more should have been going on when the beats drop in the song and also there should have been more shots of the female protagonist with different emotions. 13. Conclusion To conclude, all the audience feedback has made us very happy as it is a lot of positive comments. The negative comments are all productive and are something we know we can improve on in the future. Overall, our music video has been said to look professional which is what we were aiming for through out the past year of filming and editing. We have also learnt that you will never be able to please everyone with your final product so the focus should be on your target audience and what they want to see. That will be the success of your music video.
