Your task, should you accept it, is to research four different animals: one amphibian, bird, reptile, and mammal. After you have chosen which animals you want in your zoo, you will give your zoo a name. Then, using your creativity, you will use a shoe box to make your very own zoo for the four animals you have chosen.

The ProcessThe Process

1. First you will click on the blue arrow to go to San Diego Zoo kids website.

2. Next you will click on animals and go through the amphibians, birds, reptiles, and mammals links. Choose one from each different type of animal.

3. Then do research on each animal that you chose. Make a list and answer the following questions about each animal:

-What animal is it? -Is it an amphibian, bird, reptile or mammal? -What country is this animal located in? -What type of habitat does this animal need to live in? -What does this animal eat?-How big does this animal get?-Two interesting extra facts.

4. After you have completed your research you will then take a shoe box and begin crafting your zoo. --Your zoo must include a home for each of your four animals. --The home needs to reflect the type of habitat that the animal would be found living in the wild.

*Follow the red arrow if you need to research what your animals habitat is like.--Next name each of your animals. --Lastly name your zoo.

5. After you are finished crafting your zoo you will share with the class what animals you chose for your zoo. You will also share the facts about each of your animals.

6. Finally, after everyone is finished sharing their zoo, I will pass out four stickers to each student. One by one each of you will come up to the map posted on the board and we will put the stickers in the country that each of your animal is found.
