Definition

Assistive technology is using certain tools and

techniques which help a child or adult with a

learning disability or physical Limitations.

Physical Disability

Physical disability pertains to total or partial loss

of a person’s bodily functions and total or partial

loss of a part of the body .

Assistive Technology Device

Any item, piece of equipment or product

system, whether acquired commercially off

the shelf, modified, or customized, that is

used to increase, maintain, or improve the

functional capabilities of children with

disabilities.

Challenges

● AT cannot replace effective teaching.

● AT do not make a disability go away.

● May vary effect of AT from user to user.

● AT can not automatically promote positive attitudes toward learning.
