There are many different types of transport in the water.

Cruise Ship• Cruise ship carries a lot of people on board. It

is a floating hotel, with cinema, shops, theatre, restaurants and swimming pools…

My experience of water transport:Norwegian Spirit

I celebrated the New Year on this cruise ship this year. I went with all my family, and we spent 10 days on this ship.

• Length: 268 metres (about 67 cars long)

• Decks: 14

• Passengers: 1996

• Crew: 960

Ferry

• is a boat or a ship carrying passengers, and sometimes their vehicles, on short-distance.

Jet ski

• is a small vehicle for one person just like a scooter.

Submarine• This is used to travel deep under the sea.

• The Russian Typhoon class is the largest submarine in the world. It’s 175 metres long. It’s about the length of two football field.

Water Taxi

• A taxi on the water

Sailboat• Sailboats are propelled by wind and sails.

• The tall upright post on a sailboat is called a mast.

• Animal skins were used as sails for earliesboats and rafts.
