Waiting To Read

Waiting to Read is a project created by Gr 7s at a primary school called Somerset House. The aim is to create a digital version and a hardcover book written in three different languages for little children for who are waiting at a hospital or clinic. When the children are waiting, they can learn simple words and maybe

even a different language. The stories, pictures, photos and artwork are all original.

Die myner antwoord: “Ek kap klippe.” Hy vra die tweede myner dieselfde vraag en die myner antwoord: “Ek kap klippe sodat ‘n kerk daarmee gebou kan word.”He asked the first miner what he was doing.The miner answered “I'm mining rocks.” then asked the second miner the same question and the miner replied “I am mining rock to build a church.”Ibuze umombi wokuqala ukuba wenzani. Wathi “ndombailitye”. Iphinde yabuza owesibini wathi yena “ndomba ilitye lokwakha icawa”.

Terwyl die tweede myner in die stowwerige klipmyn gewerk het, het hy nie net klippe gesien nie, maar die pragtige kerk wat daarmee gebou gaan word.

While the second miner was working in the dusty rock mine, he didn’t see stones , he saw the beautiful church that would be built with them.

Die moral van die storie is dat dit is altyd beter om vir ‘n groter doelwit te werk.

The moral of the story is that it is always better to work towards a goal.
