How to…

You can use the Grade Centre inthe VLE to give students marks andfeedback. It is accessible in anycourse form the Control Panel >Grade Centre.

Click on the Full Grade Centre foran overview of activities andassignments.

Scroll along to see records for allstudents in Grade Centre Columns.

Grade Centre Columns can becreated in the Grade Centre. AGrade Centre Column is alsoautomatically created when youcreate an Assignment in a contentarea.(See How To guide on AddingAssignments).

Edit Grade Centre Columninformation by clicking on thearrow to the right of the titleand choosing Edit columninformation.

Here you can includeadditional information andcustomise the settings, suchas how the grade will bedisplayed (number, text foralphanumeric, etc).

It is also advisable to hide thecolumn from students untilyou are ready for the marks tobe available.

An icon will be displayedwhen a students hassubmitted a file. You canpreview the file by choosingView Grade Details to theright of the icon.

Click View Attempts to view file.

You can also Allow Additional Attempts here.

On the next page you canpreview the uploadeddocument, add a grade andswitch between attempts (ifmultiple allowed).

You can also download acopy of the assessment.

Back in the main Grade Centre, youcan also individually enter a gradestraight into the column. If this is inthe incorrect format, a message willshow.

You will also be asked toconfirm that you wish tosubmit the grade.

With the grade added, youcan now also leave feedback.Click on the arrow to the rightof the grade you have enteredand choose Quick Commentfrom the menu.

Leave feedback in theFeedback to User pane andnotes for yourself and otherstaff in Grading Notes.

Students are now able toaccess their grades andfeedback via the GlobalNavigation Menu.

Students can view their gradeand any feedback here.
