How can I provide motivation using ICT to enhance visual art?

I selected this question based on my main function, as a Visual Arts Teacher. I wish to use ICT to assist in motivating my students and to support their understanding of some of the skills and techniques they will be learning.Rapunzel - Unfired & Unpainted

Feedback on challenges at any stage of the process

• Ideally I would like a digital camera assigned to the Visual Arts Room.

• The use of a digital camera would enable me to record artworks as they progress, and the final products.

• I have discovered it is more efficient to take my art class to resources that are already set up (Projector in the Library) rather than try to set the equipment up in the Visual Art Classroom.

Reflections

• On reflection I would like to try making a visual record (digital photograph) of the different stages of making a clay bust

• In effect this would approximate a time lapse record of the bust from start to finish thereby highlighting the processes involved for the students to view and revisit as required.

Recommendations

Teachers to introduce more exemplars to the students thus motivating students by showing them what they may be capable of producing.

Future Directions In the future I would like to produce a video of

the students working, using the techniques used for modelling clay.
