R.S.S. means Really Simple Syndication, it is a way of keeping up
with changes to websites or blogs without the need to visit individual sites in your
favourites, therefore saving time.
This tutorial will take you through the process of subscribing to the CITAL blog
through R.S.S. feeds using Internet Explorer 7. The B.B.C. website
allows you to subscribe to different sections using R.S.S. feeds.

Open your Internet browser and type in the blog address
www.teachingandlearningforum.co.uk
Any website that displays the orange box means that you can subscribe to its feed.

Left click on the little arrow next to the feed symbol and a menu will appear. Left click on the highlighted text.

You will be taken to the feed page.
Left click on the subscribe to feed blue writing.

A menu will appear, just like when saving a favourite. Click subscribe.

When subscribed, a new message will appear at the top of the webpage.

Left click on the gold star on the top left hand side of the Internet Browser. Then left click on feeds.
If subscribed correctly, the CITAL feed should be present. When an update is posted the title will turn black. To read
new updates just left click on the title.

Clicking on any title in the feed will take you directly to the website.

Lots of websites now use RSS feeds, making keeping up with developments easy.
