In 2010 Australia moved to National Registration via AHPRA Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency !

Advantages !• Registration to work across all states and territories in Australia • Standardised expectation regarding Continuous Professional

• 20 hours of CPD !• The CPD cycle - reviewing practice,

identifying learning needs, planning and participating in relevant activities and reflecting on the value of the activities (ANMC 2009)

Target group

Transition to Practice Nurses (1 year structured and supported program for nurses) !!

• The group was assumed, with recent exposure in the university sector, to contain a high proportion of participants with skills in web based programs and the use of portfolios !

• Required to submit a portfolio for assessment as part of transition program
