By the Numbers

Since 2011 the number of US Veterans choosing to study overseas has steadily increased.

• In 2012 - I personally advised 15 Veterans who are studying in Australia at Griffith University. I expect 20-30 more in 2014.

• In 2013 – Approximately 212 Veterans were studying overseas.

• In 2014 it is predicted that over 400 Veterans will be studying overseas. (This

does not include those in “study-abroad” programs).

• The average cost of tuition varies greatly from country to country but seems to be around $20-$30k annually.

Critical Information

Don’t Be Fooled…

• Just like anything else you MUST do your due-diligence on studying overseas. I help with this.

• I advise eligible Veterans on the: • Who

• What

• When

• Where &

• Why’s of foreign higher education…

•Before you jump-in with both feet remember the process for doing this takes some time, you need to prepare for about a 2-3 month window.

•You should not do this type of program if you cannot afford to travel and support yourself independently for at least 90 days.

Critical Information Continued…

• You must ensure the program you want to study meets several key criteria BEFORE you apply.

• You might consider doing this with a buddy or family member.

• You should expect to get “homesick” unless short periods of isolation don’t bother you.

• You should have already completed some college. If you have not that’s ok, but it does help.

• You must not have any legal issues pending, nor should you have a criminal history that prevents you from using Federal Title IV Financial Aid.

• You should expect to use the Federal Direct Student Loan Program as a back-up funding option. I can advise you on how to go about getting more info on this.

• I can help you find the top study-abroad courses related to the degree you might be currently pursuing.

• Create a relationship between your current University and a Foreign University (If one doesn’t exist).

1.I advise against using any of these service providers.

2.Never give out your personally identifiable information until you confirm someone’s identity.

3.NEVER give out your credit card information or social security number to ANYONE claiming they can process your student-visa for you. It’s not difficult to do and I’m happy to help…
