File NOTES

index.html -Always the default page for the folder.

Keep all images or Files in the same folder as your web page.

Never put spaces in a name: USE….UPPER and lowercase, -- and _ to separate words.

Your ESU Web Space

As a student, you have been allocated some “property” on the Web

ESU’s web server has a spot for you!All you need to do is upload your files to

your web space, andGive out the “Web Address” or “URL”Then your files will be viewable on the

Internet

Step 1: What Do You Need To Know?

Know your:Server: sallie.esu.edu SALLIE – Web FOLDERAccount username = student\usernameAccount password = ESU password

Step 2: Drag your index.html to WEB

Log on to a computer on ESU

Go into your where you have index.html

Open SallieDrag your index.html file

to the your WEB folder

Explanation of what you did!

You just put your index.html and your images into your ftp server.

Reminder: Anything put in the web folder is live on the web. If it is not in the folder you cannot see it on the web.

Step 4: View the Web Page on the InternetOpen a new window in your web browser (Explorer,

Firefox etc. Type the URL:

www7.esu.edu/usernameYou should see your web page.
