Welcome to the Library
INTRODUCTION: A LIBRARY PRIMER
We’re open 24 hours a day so you can study when you want to
Yes we have books (over a million of them) but we also have PCs, study space, software, DVDs, a nice café…
We have thousands of resources online. We’ve made a Subject Guide for each Department, full of useful information to help you study, and links to high quality academic information which Google can’t find
Each Department also has a dedicated Academic Liaison Librarian. We’re here to save you time and make your academic life easier if we can. Click to watch a video about how we can help you study.
#UoYTipsWhatever you’d like help or more information on, search for #UoYTips from us and from your peers, across the website, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and the Blog

You may get phishing messages (fake emails that claim to be from the University) that try to gather your username and password. Be wary of clicking links in emails – hover of them and see if the destination is the same as the one written in the email. Also look out for emails that have a sense of urgency and imply you may lose access to your account. Plus always remember…
IT Services will never ask you to reveal your password, ever. Your
username and password are a vital piece of your University
identity. You need to keep them safe.
