MEANING: Something that suddenly and strongly makes you remember a previous time in your life.EXAMPLE: Hearing that record again was a real blast from the past.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST.

Basement: a room in a building thta is under the level of the ground.

Bossy: always telling people wht to do. Drop out: to leave school without finishing. Great- aunt: the aunt of one of your parents.Hippie: someone in the 1960s and 1970s who

had long hair and opposed the standards of society.

Vocabulary:

Homesick: feeling sad because you are away from your home.

Sweetheart: in a way to address someone you love.

Crop: a plant, such as corn, rice, etc. that is grown by a farmer and used as food.

Dedicated: built to honor a person. Invader: someone who enters a place using

military force.

Observation Deck: the outside top level of a building that you can walk on and enjoy the view below.

Pilgrim: a visitor to a holy place.Spring: a place where water comes up

naturally from the ground. Veranda: a platform with a roof.

Devastating: badly damaging or destroying something.

Step: To walk.Strike: to happen suddenly.
