WHY DO I NEED TO LOOK INTO TYPOGRAPHY?

For my project, I will need to look into different styles of print for my digipak. I will need to

research into typography used in music albums and compare and analyse the connotations of them chosen styles.

ALBUM TYPOGRAPHY

From the previous example, you can see that all different genres use a variety of typography on their album artwork.

Some elements that need to be considered when choosing a style of print are:

Genre Style of artwork/photos in the album

Artist personality What kind of reaction you want

ALBUM TYPOGRAPHY

When looking at the elements of choosing a style of print, my client, Neeraj insisted that

he wanted something simple but bold.

Taking that on board I went on with my research and found some album artwork that I thought we could get some inspiration from.

ALBUM TYPOGRAPHY

After researching into simpler album typographies, I found some really bold and

straight forward front covers which I thought was quiet effective.

They were just as effective as the more dramatic designs which we both liked.

‘Let the music speak for itself’ - Neeraj

& so that is what we are going to achieve.

TYPOGRAPHY SAMPLES

From producing a variety of samples for Neeraj to have a look at , we both decided to go with

Haettenschweiler. The font is simple yet speaks loudly, its bold and

stands out which is what we wanted for the style.

We decided it would look nicer if the individual letters was spaced out further instead of

having them altogether.

FINAL TYPOGRAPHY STYLE

This is our final typography style that we have chosen.
