2. Actress Helen Baxendale became pregnant in between two seasons; she was unable to travel to do any filming for the next season. As a result her only appearances were heavily swaddled in bed clothes, and she had to be written out of the series a lot earlier than was intended. In order to justify her being written out, the writers of the show added a new character trait to Y. This would be a running gag on the show. What?

Y is Ross Geller. Helen Bexendale played Emily Waltham – his British wife. They gave the character trait ‘Ross loves to Divorce.’

5. The series was created by husband-and-wife team Ted Corday and Betty Corday along with Irna Phillips in 1964, and many of the first stories were written by William J. Bell. The Cordays and Bell combined the "soaps taking place in a hospital" idea with the tradition of centering a series around a family, by making the show about a family of doctors, including one who worked in a mental hospital. Storylines in the show follow the lives of middle and upper-class professionals in Salem, a middle-America town, with the usual threads of love, marriage, divorce, and family life, plus the medical storylines and character studies of individuals with psychological problems. This ever running show has been parodied by many shows and the parody itself was a sub plot of a famous sit-com. Id this series.

8. ______ ______was designed to evoke both the drama of a dramatic adventure radio serial, and the fantasy of a comic book. The show's most notable inspiration comes from the classic old-time radio serial Jack Armstrong. In fact, XY had originally intended to produce an animated adaptation of Jack Armstrong. Hiring noted comic book artist Doug Wildey, XY began negotiations with Jack Armstrong's copyright owners, and produced a short (approximately one-minute) Jack Armstrong test animation sequence in 1962. Negotiations fell through, and the Jack Armstrong project was renamed into_____ _______an original series based on a similar idea. Scenes from the Jack Armstrong test film were incorporated into the______ ______ closing credits montage: they are the scenes of the red-haired boy and his father escaping from the African natives using a hovercraft.
