MDC:• Nigeria:inthisregion,landdegradationismainlycausedbyagriculturalactivitiessuchastreefellingfuelwoodandtimberproduction,cropexpansion,andagriculturalintensification.Duetothis,thisregionsuffersfromlossofsoilfertility.What'sbeingdonetosolvethisisthatorganizations,suchasSHED- Africa,areworkingwithruralandurbanpoorcommunitiestoraiseawareness.AnotherwayisregulationsthattheFederalGovernmentofNigeriasetfourthtoregulateforestactivities.

• USA:IntheUS,longleafpinesavannashavebeenaffectedbylogging.Duetothis,itfaceslessbiodiversitysincemanyspecieslinein,onornearthetreesbeingtorndown;climatechangeanddeclineinsoilfertility.Thisisbeingsolvedbyorganizationsraisingawarenessandseparatetreefarmstoprovidetimber.
