CONCEPT

The concept of our music video will be to do with love. Basically, the main singer has fallen in love with a girl way out of his league. Although, he is already in a relationship with a mature woman who is prepared for marriage/mature things. The main thing the man wants is sex, and doesn’t want to settle down, he wants to have fun while he can. “What you doing wasting your time chasing this girl around” “You’re not nineteen forever”, these are the words of the mature girl telling him to back off. Throughout the song he is basically told that he needs to mature up because he’s not going to be nineteen forever. For a basically analogy, it’s about teen romance. This is the general idea we have for our music video, although small pointers may vary. We think at the end he’s going realize that he needs to mature up and settles down because he knows it’s time he needs to grow up.

Settings and Styles

The film studio at Hartlepool Sixth Form College – In this setting we will film all the footage of our band performing, from close ups to establishing shots we plan to film this on Friday 25th of October 2013 and finish this shooting session on that day. We plan to use low-key lighting in the studio to create a somewhat ominous tone, as we want the audience to feel the feelings of our front man in the band witch is confusion. Here are some images of the booking sheets to illustration and verify when we plan to film our first shooting.

Alex’s house, in the video Alex’s house will be the house of our lead female her characters Name is Amy. We will shoot the following scenes here; one of the first scenes where Paul Jones (the front man of the band) is found intoxicated and passed out on the living room floor. In this scene we want to represent the house as a orthodox settled, committed, family home, all of which Paul doesn’t want. This generates a contrast of the actual reality. The scene were Paul is running to Amy’s house will also be filmed at this location.

Seaton Park will be the location where our flash back is filmed, the flash back is to show the happy times Paul and Amy spent together. This will show that Paul was happy and not everything is doom and gloom. So if we want this to show that he’s happy we want the style of the lighting to be optimistic and vibrant.

We originally planed a scene at a party to show that despite her initial plans to stay in a watch a film Amy geos out to the party Paul has been invited to, to spite him. Paul sees Katie at this party but she, has she always does takes not one blind bit of notice of Paul. As of lack of location and filming time left we are unsure if this scene is possible to shoot. At the party it would be mainly low key lighting, quite dark with neo lighting and strobing. We want to create juxtaposition, as Paul is still un-decided of what he wants or feels.

There is a scene out side where Paul is running to find Katie/ or see Katie. We want to film it at night but we are restricted, as we don’t know if the light will be good enough to film. It needs to be cold so we can see the heavy breathing and uncertainty of the main actor. There is another scene we want to film outside. This scene is where Paul has finally decided what he wants, he is running to Amy’s house so we want this shot to be more clear and show his determination to get what he wants.
