Trap Questions: Dealing with Complicated questions in an Interview Interview is to know how good and beneficial the candidate can be for the company. Also, to know whether he/she would be suitable for the position applied and other positions which are followed. To have complete picture of these, HR Interviewer asks certain questions which might look like that are not related, but the intension of asking those questions is different. The 2 nd purpose of the interview is to know about candidate, his/her career and work-style in very limited period of time. The primary moto of interviewer can be put in terms of “everything there is to know” which doesn’t includes only Big Strengths and achievements, but also weakness, mistakes, wrong moves, etc. Like it is said “Everything there is to know about”. To achieve this interviewer asks some complicated and negative questions. Questions which you feel obsessive or forceful or you are not comfortable with.

Trap Questions:

Dealing with Complicated questions in an Interview

Interview is to know how good and beneficial the candidate can be for the

company. Also, to know whether he/she would be suitable for the position

applied and other positions which are followed. To have complete picture of

these, HR Interviewer asks certain questions which might look like that are not

related, but the intension of asking those questions is different. The 2nd purpose

of the interview is to know about candidate, his/her career and work-style in

very limited period of time.

The primary moto of interviewer can be put in terms of “everything there is to

know” which doesn’t includes only Big Strengths and achievements, but also

weakness, mistakes, wrong moves, etc. Like it is said “Everything there is to

know about”.

To achieve this interviewer asks some complicated and negative questions.

Questions which you feel obsessive or forceful or you are not comfortable with.

It does sometimes feel like they want you to shoot at your own leg, but that is

not truth.

Here are some of the tips I found, to answer these complicated and negative

questions. Do follow them smartly or else you might fell somewhere down the

place.

1. Never Pretend to be “The One”

“Nobody’s perfect”, this is as true as it sounds, and interviewer knows that. So,

never show that you have never made a mistake or you have never been wrong

or you have never taken wrong decisions. Interviewer will ask to tell them about

your weaknesses or tell them about the time where you made a mistake or took

a wrong decision. Because they want to how much you know about yourself and

can analyze and realize your mistakes and weaknesses and can work on those.

Never say or show that you don’t have weaknesses or you are completely

perfect, full package. It shows immaturity and never has any experience working

with professionals. Tell them about the littles mistake you ever did or a

weakness which you have faced and show them how you improved yourself or

took steps to cover-up and learn from those mistakes.

2. Don’t give examples that are directly related to the core aspects of the job.

Never give examples of those time or moments which are directly related to the

core aspects of your applied job. The best way to explain this is taking an

example of “Stage Fear”. Many people have stage fear, it is nothing to worry

about. But, never use that as your example of some weaker area in the interview

where you are applying for a position of a trainer or department head or Upper

position, then giving this example will show you a red flag. It ok if you do the

same in the interview for the positon of researcher or back office or support.

3. Show Professionalism and Maturity

All those minutes, seconds, moments will be less than comfortable. You will be

asked about how you dealt with certain type of people you never like. It is very

easy to get-a-long with the flow of emotions, but you are not there to share your

feelings. You are there to impress them to get a job. So, control your emotions

and always show maturity while answering these types of questions. This will

show how you can control yourself in difficult situation, because there is always

going to be a difficult situation and there is always going to be someone who

you don’t like.

4. Show Confidence, But don’t be over-confident

There is a very thin line, between confidence and over-confidence. It shows

confidence, believing that you are the right guy/girl for the job, thinking you are

the only guy/girl for the job is over-confidence. Interviewers always try to see

that how you can control yourself and your confidence. They usually ask, “What

If I don’t select you for the job?” or “You don’t seem to be the person we were

looking for the job?” The person with confidence will take this in a properly

manner and will respond to it maturely by saying that “I will try for other

company” or “Let’s continue our discussion and you will hopefully change your

mind” A person with less confidence or over confidence will react to this. The

moment you react, that is a red flag. Always be calm and show that you after the

job and not the money or company.

These are few of the tips which I understood from a website “campusrecruit.in”.
