Train yourself to Be an Optimist

Some people seem to havea sunny disposition, while others always focuson the darker side of things.

Are they just born that way?Yes, to some degree, says Jason Selk, mental coachand author of ExecutiveToughness.

But you can mentally trainyourself to change your outlookon life toward the more upbeat. You can train your pupils aswell.

Optimistic people are happier, healthier,

more successful, and have longer lives

Don't wait till you've finally finished the big project or madethe successful presentation.

Instead, recognize incremental successes and accomplishments.

Simple training every day

Take a few seconds per day to ask,'What have I done well today?' This simple gesture reinforcesoptimism on a daily basis.

The answers inevitablyadd up to help youdevelop self-confidence,which is extremelyimportant for high-levelperformance.
