NarrativeThe idea of this film is to try and make it realistic and relatable to the audience through the use of social media sites by doing this it attracts a certain demographic of teenagers who commonly use social media. The narrative is based upon how teenagers use social media too much and are too trusting of the people who are on it and will do anything to seem popular by adding anyone to appear to others that they have a large friendship group and therefore are popular. However, in this film the protagonist accepts a friend request from someone they don’t really know and turns out the person is not real and is a poltergeist who subsequently haunts or kill people who add her.

CinematographyThis trailer follows the conventions of Todorov’s theory of equilibrium and is supported by the cinematography whereby the lighting at the start is bright and colourful and so shows that the characters are happy as the story progresses through the trailer the lighting becomes dark and gloomy highlighting that something dark and disturbing is happening and that something isnt right. As the trailer continues scenes get darker and shadows become more visible showing that something bad is going to happen.

Mise-en-sceneThe mise-en-scene needs to support the narrative and the idea of it being relatable to the audience so the studio have accomplished this by having costumes that are very similar to normal clothes and what a teenager would wear, this securing it more in reality and therefore allowing for the audience to picture themselves in this position making the film more scary as they could see them selves in the film.

Camera workThe camera work in this trailer uses a lot of different techniques and some innovative ideas such as using screen caps which is where a computer screen is recorded not by a physical camera but a software on the computer. The use of this camera work is very easy to do and isn't dependent on actors so will only take a few times to create. It also includes a lot of the normal shot types that are in horror films such as close ups and extreme close ups to show the expression of the characters clearly.

SoundIn the trailer there is a lot of different sounds used to build tension and to scare the audience. The main sound used would be the buzzing of fly's or bugs this is used because to some it is quite a disturbing sound and is relatable to being stung or hurt so therefore instantly makes the audience think of bad things which supports the genre of the film. Also when a jump scare is about to happen they use no or minimal sound this creates tension but highlights that something bad is going to happen.

EditingThis trailer has heavy post-production as there is a lot of visual effects such as the bugs and also some of the screen caps as the sites would have to be edited to make it look the part for the film.

As the trailer continues the amount of cuts increase this is used in most horror films as it builds tension and pace of the trailer making it more exciting and enjoyable for the audience and ultimately leads to a climax for the trailer.
