more than the entire United Kingdom. South Africa is the second largest exporter of fruit in the

world. Kruger National Park supports the greatest variety of

wildlife species on the African continent. South Africa is the first country in Africa to host the

prestigious FIFA World Cup (will take place in 2010). South Africa has the highest commercial bunge jump in

the world (710 feet).

Cape Town is the second-most populous city in South Africa.

The city is famous for its harbour as well as such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain. It´s the legislative capital of South Africa.

Robben Island is an island, 6.9 km west of the coast of Bloubergstrand, Cape Town. Robben Island is internationally known for the fact that former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela was in jail on Robben Island for 18 of the 27 years he served behind bars before the fall of apartheid.

It is one of the country's three capital cities, serving as the executive

(administrative) national capital. Is popularly known as the Jacaranda City due to the thousands of Jacaranda trees planted in its streets, parks and gardens.

Apartheid was the political regime of South Africa from 1948 to 1994 and it was the time where many rights were denied to the black people.

Many laws were made to denied the rights of the black people.

Apartheid last almost 50 years and it was one of the most extreme examples of racism that we can find.

Mandela (1918-2013) Nelson Mandela was born in 1918 ant it

was the first democratic president of South Africa and symbol of freedom and anti racism.

Mandela was in jail for about 30 years Recently in December 2013 Mandela

died.

South Africa won the 2007 Rugby World Cup and hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup
