The Old Process: Town hires Architect for Study & Design on project Town desires & then requests State for reimbursement.

The New Process (FAR MORE COMPLEX): • Town submits SOI

• State selects Town out of 225 MA communities

• State is partner with Town “holding our hands” throughout the process

MSBA Process

Page 25: Town Meeting Presentation June 7, 2010

25

• Good News!• The MSBA selected North Reading out of 225 priority projects

submitted by other MA communities to move into the next stage: Feasibility & Schematic Design

The purpose of this stage is to work with the MSBA to formulate a plan to upgrade our secondary school facilities in a way that is educationally sound & cost efficient.

Where are we now?
