Estar perdido(a) – to be lost, can’t find your way Ex: Estou perdido, você pode me ajudar? / I am lost, can you can help me?

Perder a cabeça ou Perder a paciência - lose one’s temper, freak out. Ex: Ela é esquentada e perde a cabeça com facilidade She is a hothead and loses her temper easily

Perder a hora - oversleep, lose track of time Ex: Desculpa pelo atraso, perdi a hora! I am sorry I am late, I overslept!

Perder as esperanças - give up hope Ex: O jogador perdeu as esperanças de jogar porque está machucado . The player has given up hope of playing because he is injured.

Perder peso - lose weight Ex: Ele perdeu tanto peso! Parece outra pessoa. He lost so much weight! He looks like another person.
