TOBACCO FACTS

Holding an average-sized cup of dip or chew in the mouth for 30 minutes delivers as much nicotine as smoking four cigarettes.

Smokeless tobacco contains 10 times the amount of cancer-producing substances found in cigarettes and 100 times more than the FDA allows in foods and other substances used by the public.

Cigar smoke contains 23 poisons and 43 carcinogens. Smoking as little as one cigar per day can double the risk of several cancers.

It is estimated that that 75% of the estimated 34,360 oral cancer cases in the United States in 2007 resulted from either smokeless tobacco or cigarettes.
