    Thunderstorms in the U.S.A are more common in the midwestern and southern states.
    Especially COMMON in Florida!

  7. 7. Tips on how to stay safe during thunderstorm:
    Watch the weather
    Count the time between the thunder and lightning: If the time is 30 seconds or less, the lightning is close enough to be a threat.
    Take shelter when storm is confirmed
    Stay in safe place for at least 30 minutes after the last flash of lightning.
    Keep an emergency kitin your house f the time is 30 seconds or less, the lightning is close enough to be a threat and you should take shelter.
    30 minutes!
