What have you learnt from your audience feedback

After getting feedback at different stages of the creation of my media products, I have been able to take into consideration the different aspects of media that my target audience enjoy. Creating a survey allowed me to understand various different activities, expectations and aspects of action thriller films that my target audience enjoy. When receiving feedback about the fonts to use for my trailer and poster I took the ideas into consideration which allowed me to ensure that I was creating media products that my target audience were going to enjoy.

At further stages of the creation, when receiving feedback on the general view of poster and magazine cover, I was able to see the different concepts that I needed to change in order to make both products more realistic and more effective. For example, I got feedback on the images in which I should use for both the print products. This allowed me to take various shots that could match some of the suggested shots that some of my target audience had given me. Then I was able to try the different images on the products. After doing this, I received further feedback about my chosen images and also about the colour schemes that would look best and fonts.

When getting feedback on the trailer, we were able to understand that the narrative of the trailer did not make a lot of sense. Therefore we were advised to add more inter titles so that the audience could follow a more simple and “to the point” narrative. By doing this, i was able to understand that without the inter titles telling the audience different points of the story, there was nothing they could follow or that could entice them into watching the film. Therefore, in order to improve the trailer for the film, we included inter-titles so that we could portray a clearer, easier to understand narrative that our target audience could follow. Sound was also a key piece of feedback that we received because we had to be careful when choosing the diagetic and non-diagetic that we were including in the trailer. We also looked at other trailers and were able to realise that the backing tracks of the trailer had to fit the mood being portrayed in the mise-en-scene of the trailer.
