Narcissism

• This screenshot from Eminem’s “Without Me” display narcissism, they do not directly or visually show this, however the lyrics that accompany them state “Because it feels so empty without me”, this is him clearly trying to display to everyone that he knows what’s best, and everyone should follow him where ever he goes.

Intertextuality

• The screenshot below displays intertextuality because Eminem can be seen wearing a belt of a super hero costume that directly refers to Batman and Robin. This is because the screenshot displays the belt which is a direct Batman reference, along with it having the colour scheme of Robin’s costume.

Parody

• The screenshot below also displays parody of “CNN” a very famous American news channel. This can be seen in the music video as “ENN”, this clip also parodies the famous Osama Bin Laden news report , although he has parodied it in a comedic way as he has created Bin Laden dancing.

Bricolage

• The screenshot below displays Bricolage as it borrows from a different form of media. This is because it is seen to use the comic book effect to stick to the super hero theme as seen in the rest of the music video.

Breaking down the fourth wall

• The screenshot below display Eminem breaking down the fourth wall in the music video. This is because he is seen to be directly looking at the camera, therefore he is directly addressing the audience in order to allow the audience to feel a sense of belonging in the music video; as it is like he is directly talking to them.
