Now let’s get down to some work !

You have got to help Badger, Ratty and Mole write a

letter to Mr. Toad. Remember that they want to

convince him to become more sensible.

Convincing him will be hard work ! If you want to

succeed you will need a . So, just follow

these steps:

Step 1: planning ahead.

- First, make groups of three people. You will focus

on chapters 5, 6 and 7, so, each member of the group

picks up one of them.

- Next, go over the chapter you picked and note

down the situations in which Mr. Toad gets in

trouble.

- Then, analyse why Mr. Toad did wrong in those

situations and write it on your notebook.

- Now, pick up the most dreadful of Mr. Toad’s

mistakes and write the right thing to do to

prevent trouble from arising.

Step 2: getting started.

- Spend two minutes on thinking about how a letter to

a friend is organized: date, address, greetings,

main text, leave taking, signature...
