Vikings were from Scandinavia: Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Viking warriors attacked seaside villages for gold and silver. Viking families settled down in England, Scotland and France. For the first time the Vikings explored Iceland, Greenland and Russia. The Vikings also reached North America.

Viking ships were marine vessels of particular designs used and built by the Vikings themselves during the Viking Age. They were big and strong. They could carry up to 200 people, animals and vessels.

Viking weapons

Vikings made weapons. The poor soldiers had only knives and spears and wealthier Vikings wore metal helmets and they had sharp swords. Vikings loved their Swords very much and they called them names.

Vikings visited a lot of places around the world: Europe, Asia, South Africa, Iceland, Greenland

and North America.

Big and beautiful Britain was one of the best sources of income for the Vikings, and they conquered it and settled down in large numbers. They brought not only their culture but also their language here.

As archaeologists discovered, the Vikings liked music, and played board and dice games. They ate meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. They also made bread and drank beer.
