5th Grade students were learning about the smallest unit of life--the cell, in their current Life Science unit! The participation was exceptional! All students created a project on the cell of their choice; plant or animal and presented to their class.

All animals, including humans are made up of cells. We learned that the cell membrane is “the boss” at letting water and other substances into the cell. Also, waste leaves the cell from the cell membrane.

Plants are made up of different cells. We learned that the cell wall is only found in plant cells. Also, chloroplasts are in plant cells but animal cells do not have that organelle.
