Solution:

Conclusions:If you do the operations with 17 sheep, you will always arrive to a decimal number and you can’t approximate. So, mentally you’ve to buy another sheep to be able to do the calculations with any decimal error. Finally you add the number of sheep that have all the sons of the shepherd and the result will be 17 sheep.
