Step 1: Set ExpectationsEntry Event - Introduce problem, task,and/or essential question.
Elaborate goals for the project.
Share examples of high-qualitycompleted work.
Describe tools/resources/products.
Share checklists and rubrics to clarifyyour expectations for their work.
Step 2: Form TeamsGroup students, or have them groupthemselves, by varying levels ofacademic, social, organizational, andtechnical expertise.
Heterogeneous is best.
Foster positive interdependence byassigning roles for group members.

Step 3: Brainstorming
Produce as many ideas as possible thatrelate to the task assigned.
Identify potential issues/obstacles.
Explore various approaches.
Conduct initial research to find new ideas.
Step 4: Develop the VisionBegin to narrow down ideas from thebrainstorming session.
Determine the direction the project workis headed.
Share vision and solicit feedback.
Progress check/tangible.
Step 5: Develop a Plan
Storyboard or road map for how studentswill/should complete project work.
Should include content and a strongdirection for each component.
2nd check-in point/tangible.
It may be helpful to approve plan beforework can begin.
Step 6: Project BuildingStudent teams work independentlywithout direct instruction, reviewing theirstoryboard and assigning tasks forcompletion.
Just-in-time learning!
Finish rough draft, review rubric, prepareto present completed project.
Step 7: Presentation of LearningTeams present artifacts, designs, products.
Individual team members share their learning.
Audience gives feedback.
Facilitator provides feedback and clarifies.
