• SECONDARY – Industries that involve producing and manufacturing goods.

• TERTIARY - Provides a service to the community.

• QUATERNARY – The most high tech and recent of the industry classifications, usually involving research and development.

• ACCESSIBILTIY The site of a new

factory needs to be easily accessible for the import and export of materials.

• CLIMATE The climate needs

to attract workers to the area.

• LAND The site of an

industry needs to have flat land and room to expand should the company become successful

• POWER No longer does

industry have to set up near a power source as industries can now gain power from the national grid

set up their industry without this. A very important factor

communication links to the city and the rest of the world

often set up in or around large cities due to the shear demand for labour

absolutely vital to industry today. No longer are they local but some world wide
