THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDYING SCIENCE

Science is important because it teaches an understanding of natural phenomena.

Science aims to stimulate our natural curiosity in finding out why things happen in the way we do. It teaches methods of enquiry and investigation to stimulate creative thought. We, as children learn to ask scientific questions and begin to appreciate the way Science will affect our future on a personal, national and global level.

At the Istituto Comprensivo San Giovanni Bosco, we have an extensive range of computer software, website access  and interactive activities that are delivered through the use of class room interactive white boards. Science teaching is also supported with informative video clips, models, topic resources and posters.

OUR EXPERIENCES

I have asked questions and researched the answers.

I have created a Powerpoint presentation to explain my science project.

I planned and completed an investigation.

My friend and I used a digital camera to record what we did.

I have analyzed results and presented my conclusions.

I have used ICT to further my scientific understanding.

I have had fun in Science and enjoyed ‘hands on’, ‘real’ Science activites.
