In the beginning, the animated skeletons playing instruments is a connotation of old rock and roll. – this also implies that they will still be rocking, even when they’re dead. Its also iconographic in rock and roll as it is commonly used in other bands and could be called a band mascot. For example, Iron Maiden have a band mascot they’ve named ‘Eddie’.

The colors used in these shots are bright and contrasted. It shows that death isn’t gloomy and depressing and death can be upbeat in terms of the state of mind.

The band give the impression that they are not bothered by death.

As the skeleton are playing the instruments, it implies they will still be playing their instruments as a band when they’re dead.

These shots are iconographic, this is as many rock/metal bands use settings similar to this.

This is as the woods represent the rock and roll wild life and attitude. It also shows that they are free to do whatever they want.

The landscape relates to the lyrics, “how you like me now?” –which shows the ‘I don’t care’ attitude.

The animation of the woman represents that the man has a fantasy over this woman.

Her devilish features imply that she has a bad attitude – also may be hard to get.

The whole idea of the song is that he wants to be bad, just to impress this girl – hence the lyrics “How you like me now? Does that make you love me baby?”

The animated women are also represented as sexy and sexualized. This represents the devilish nature of this character.

The shots of the singer chasing this mysterious woman shows as if he’s constantly running after this woman he desires and wants to impress.

The idea of the mysterious woman with the red hood connotes little red riding hood. By showing this, this also gives the impression of a fantasy tale therefore makes it a lot more mysterious.
