WHAT HAPPENED

Emmett Till was an African American boy. He was only 14 years old when he was brutally murdered.

On August 28 1955 This boy seen below was brutally murdered.

Emmett Till He was 14 years old He was from ChicagoHe was visiting family in Mississippi.Emmett Till grew up in a working class neighborhood of the south side of Chicago.

WHAT HAPPENED

Emmett Till was an African American boy. He was only 14 years old when he was brutally murdered.

WHAT HAPPENED

Four days before the incident Emmett Till was flirting with a white woman. The white lady’s husband and brother were the assailants.

WHAT HAPPENED

When the white lady’s husband and brother found out They then found Emmett. They made Emmett carry a 75-pound cotton-gin fan to the bank of the Tallahatchie river.

When he got to the river they made him take off all of his clothing.

WHAT HAPPENED

They found the young boy Emmett Till in the Tallahatchie River.A lady said she could see right through the bullet hole in Emmett’s head.

WERE THE BLACKS UNDER ATTACK?

The blacks thought that they were under attack. Descriptions were made as dark and scary.

The blacks thought that the Emmett Till was a sign of them being next. This was one of the causes of the civil war.

people. This time was the worst. After the civil war there was no

more segregation.
