THE HISPANIC PERIOD•Is called Hispanic period the time where arrival Christopher Columbus to America.
•The hispanic period has 3 moments the recognition or discovery, the conquest and the colony.
WHY WAS POSSIBLE THAT SPANISH ARRIVAL TO AMERICA?
• In XV century was called India some zones of europe. From here the spanish obtain benefifts for example food, condiments and different products.
RECOGNITION OF THE SPANISH• Cristopher Columbus started his
voyages with the resources offered by the kings; after some days he and his tripulation found land.
He returned to Spain with riches and the kings decided to financed him other 3 trips.
The next trips• After Columbus trips the Spanish
were exited for the riches in the new world. Started and expedition to tour all America and submit the indians to have power over the gold and riches.
THE CONQUEST
• It was called the period following the discovery, in which was resorted to violence and weapons to subdue the Indians who inhabited our territory.
• The conquest started since 1492, when Christopher Columbus arrival to America until 1550, when the spanish finished to tour all America; founded towns and take control over the territory.
Conquest in Colombia• Colombia was explored and conquest by the
Atlantic and then went into the rest of the country.
• Some of the conquerors that arrived to Colombia was:
• Alonso de Ojeda• Francisco Pizarro• Sebastian de Belalcázar
In a lot of places were taken all the riches and the indians were dominated or exterminated.In this period the indians suffered an abrupt change in their life, customs, religion, language, their authority and their goverment.
CapitulationCatholic kings did not have enough money to pay the conquest, then
signed contracts called capitulations with men to commit to financing and
leading expeditions.
• The capitulations establish the conqueror would be entitled to command the conquered territories and much of the riches found.
The conquerors were undertook to:
• deliver to the Spanish crown a fifth of the booty or riches
• Found populations• converted indians to Catholicism• Leading the tripulation and is responsible for
buying the boats, horses, food and weapons necessary for the trip.
Advantages that Spanish had
• The conquest of the actual Colombian territory was possible because:
• The cultures that inhabited the territory were scattered (dispersos).
• The spanish had weapons of fire and horses
the Indians were infected with European diseases.
like the flu, smallpox and some death for their cause.

Effects of the conquestThe consequences of the conquest were desastrous for the indian communities,
they lived the violence.The chief were murder, women were
abuse and slaves.
What did think ones from the others?
• The spanish and the indians were surprised to know them, was the encounter between two different cultures that speak different language.
The indians though that the spanish were Gods for their white skin color and because the spanish can
dominate beast like horses and dogs.
The Spanish though that the indians were sinner and wild.Spanish tough that indians
believes didn´t have coherence and their undress
