Unzipped, a day in the life of a...

It was another lazy day, just sitting in the ……. chatting to the ……... and …….. The occasional tickle of insect feet when a fly landed on his skin.

Life as a …….was pretty ok. Finally when hands closed around him fingers bent his stalk back until his skin popped open and his insides oozed out. His tiny …….mind screamed in terror as his soft flesh was exposed,

his skin peeled off and discarded in a floppy pile.Had this been his fate all along? Why hadn´t anyone warned him?

G for Gadgets #AtoZChallenge

‘So, how many days will you be away?’ Sameer asked Dia.

‘Three days. But may extend to five,’ she replied continuing with the packing.

‘What are you taking?’ asked Sameer looking at her work clothes spread on the bed.

‘Three pairs of work wear, office laptop, my Tab, my Kindle and their chargers.’

‘Why do you need so many gadgets? Can’t you decide on Tab or a Kindle? You can even read on your smartphone. I

think you should rather carry some extra clothes.’

‘Ow! It’s cheaper to buy new clothes than buying new gadgets,’ Dia winked.

On/Off JUNE 25, 2015 / [email protected]

“Off,” the boy whispered to the star that was peeking through his bedroom window. And it disappeared from the sky. “On.” And the star came back, glittering in the dark. “On,” he said again, giggling as a new star came into being next to the first. “On! On! On!” New stars sprang into existence, shining in crude formations. “Go to bed,” his mother groaned from the hallway. The boy scrambled into bed but couldn’t find his way to sleep, the starlight too bright. “Off,” he said. The stars disappeared and his room went dark.
