PERSON FROM HISTORYA character from history is Ranel McCoy. He

is one of the two men to start the feud. No one knows how the feud started but the most popular reason is when Ranel’s prettiest daughter Roseanna (thought to be the prettiest girl in three counties) runs away from home with Anse Hatfield’s (nicknamed Devil Anse) handsome son, Johnse Hatfield. Another reason Ranel McCoy is my character from history is because he is brave and cares for his family.

RECOMENDATIONS

I recommend this book because it is interesting. Also because you just want to keep reading it. This book really puts an image in your head of what the plot looks like. This book was really fun to read and if you do read it, I hope that you enjoy it.

QUOTE

“What seemed to be happening, if you put your mind to it, we were getting along in our house, helping each other.”- Fanny McCoy

MY FAVORITE CHARACTER

My favorite Character is Roseanna McCoy because she is brave and loving. She is Fanny McCoy’s favorite sister, and she protects her friends and family. I also like her because she gives good advice to her brothers and sisters. She is kind and everybody thought she was the prettiest girl in three counties.

FACTS There were more McCoy children but they were not involved in the

feud so they were not included in the book. Fanny McCoy was said to be the youngest in this book, but she was

really not. But the author thought she was at the right age to tell the story.

Mr. Ambrose Cuzlin, Fanny’s teacher, really didn’t exist. The author thought he would be the right person to be Fanny’s teacher.

This story is thought to be a real-life story of Romeo and Juliet, because the family is feuding, and two people, one from each family, fall in love, as in Romeo and Juliet.
