The human mind has the ability to store and learn many things, but learning would be impossible without our memory. Without it we would respond to every situation as if we have never experienced it. Information can be retrieved from long term memory for processing in short term or working memory. The information stored in long-term memory is retained permanently. While the capacity of our long-term memory is unknown, it is considered to be extremely large.

Information stored in your long-term memory can affect your critical thinking by: By adding previous knowledge with newer facts, familiar sounds
and ideas, your thoughts become more complex and logical therefore helping you when it comes to critical thinking.
