A man was out walking in the desert when a voice said to him, "Pick up

some pebbles and put them in your pocket, and tomorrow you will be both

happy and sad." The man obeyed. He stooped down and picked up a handful of pebbles

and put them in his pocket. The next morning he reached into his pocket

and found diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds.

And he was both happy and sad. Happy he had taken some - sad that he

hadn't taken more.

Throughout the semester a wide variety of environmental topics will be shared with you through TED Talk Videos. These TED videos will be posted on the La Salle Schoology. Your assignment is to complete four (4) TEDitorials in response to any of the TED Talk videos made available to you this semester. An editorial is an article written to express an opinion, by taking a side and arguing for or against a specific issue regarding that topic. An editorial is typically written in an essay format of three to five paragraphs.Please make sure the title and presenter of the TED Talk are included in your editorial.

TEDitorials are worth twenty points (20).

TEDitorials will be assessed upon the following criteria:

Proper essay format, grammar, punctuation, capitalization etc. (8). Strength and support for the opinion taken. (12) (Your opinion can never be incorrect, but your logical support of your opinion must tried and true.) Your stance on

the point of view should be supported by information presented in class, previous

knowledge or new information researched outside of class. This should include one or

more of the following: expert source, personal experience or a counter-example.

TEDitorials can be turned in any time prior to the deadline assigned.
