Dynamism?

I would give Ellen a 4/5 for dynamism. She was clearly passionate and excited about the material.

It would have been nice if she slowed down just a little bit and utilized her PowerPoint more. I feel showing some images of the starving population would have helped make a more visual impact.

Sir Ken Robinson vs Ellen Gustafson

Sir Ken Robinson

Spoke slowly and clearly Used a lot of comedy Kept an even keeled energy level Used advanced visual assistanceCame across as old school Excellent speaker. Very experienced and professional while still entertaining.

Ellen Gustafson

Spoke clearly, but very quickly Did not really use any comedy Was always on “high” Used very basic visual assistance Brought a young fresh view Great speaker but did not seem

nearly as experienced as Robinson.

Tips for my classmates

Keep energy level high

Make eye contact

Get up! Don’t present your speech while sitting at the

computer. Stand up so you can use body language.

Use visual aids when possible

Know your speech (don’t read off a script)

Enjoy yourself and the audience will most likely

enjoy your presentation.
