1. The first grade students created autobiographical webs.
2. Next each student went to the outline form and wrote sentences using their web ideas.
3. Each student copied and pasted their story into Microsoft Word.

Freedom Quilt Project
1. Students attended a play about Harriet Tubman.
2. They did online research on the Underground Railroad.
3. Each student created a webpage for a vocabulary word using Microsoft Front Page.

Harriet TubmanHarriet Tubman was a conductor
on the Underground Railroad. She helped hundreds of slaves
find freedom.
Drinking Gourd The Drinking Gourd is a constellation of
stars. When you look at the Drinking Gourd it has the North Star. The
Drinking Gourd is also known as the Big Dipper. It was a code name the slaves used to talk about the North Star. If they
followed the North Star it would take them North to freedom.

3rd Grade Space Brochures
1. Students divided into teams and were assigned planets.
2. Using the webpage (Mrs. Meyer created) each the team followed the Planet Seekers Mission to research their part of the brochure. http://www.harrisburgacademy.org/computer/current%20meyer/3rdplanet.htm click to view
3. Students created their narratives from their research in Microsoft Word.
3rd Grade Space Brochures continued
4. Each team used Microsoft Publisher to create their brochure.
5. Brochures were then printed.

• Each year each 4th Grader does a major project on a state
• As the technology part of this project students create a Power Point Project or a Web Page Project on their state.
• This year the projects were Power Points.

3. The web was next converted to an outline and exported as a Power Point.
