THE QUENCH PROJECT
The goal of our project is to raise awareness
about the tragic shortage of water in third-world
countries and cut down on pollution in our
environment.
STATISTICS
Approximately 1 in 8 people in the world lack access to
clean water.
• An American taking a five-minute shower
uses more water than a typical person in
a developing country slum uses in a
whole day.
• Waterborne diseases cause more
than 1.4 million children’s deaths per
year.
• More than 2.2 million people die each
year from poor water and sanitary
conditions
BENEFITS OF DONATIONS
For every $1 invested in children-
including money to improve access
to clean water and sanitation- $7
will be saved in the cost of long-
term public services.
CHANGES TO BE MADE
It is estimated that saving half of the water
lost through leaky pipes and poorly
maintained sewage networks could
supply more than 90 million people with
clean water. --(United Nation)
