How I teach writing with Google Docs

● I organize it on PC for convenience

● Our students work on iPad

● iPad apps different from PCo Have both limited and enhanced functionality

● Typing difficult on iPad, but …o Can be overcome to some extent with

continuous speech recognition tools

Essential Google Docs Tips

Strike out tool - alt-shift-5 on PC (none on iPad)

Comment tool - ctrl-alt-m on PC (voice on iPad)

An organized Drive (with folders & subfolders)

● A File naming system with names and topics

● Use the search tool to bring up files in Drive

● Use Shared with Me and Recent to find files

You try it: Create a Google Doc

● This is how
