4 Reasons
What kind of writing should students do?
There is no limit of topics that we can ask
students to write about, but the tasks must be
chosen according to their abilities, interest,
what we think is useful for them and also
motivate them as well.
Harmer, J., (2001(

What can be done about handwriting?
What is the importance of feedback?
What is process writing?
In process writing, the teacher moves away from being a marker to a reader, responding to the content of student writing more than the form. Students should be encouraged to think about audience. Students also need to realize that what they put down on paper can be changed: Things can be deleted, added, restructured, reorganized, etc.
Graham Stanley, British Council, Barcelona 2003

Reflection
Some writing suggestions for students :
• Beginner and lower intermediate: Students design posters for a party or play, or
concert .• Elementary and intermediate: Students write invitations of various kinds.• Upper-intermediate and advance: Students write letters to a newspaper in
response to controversial article. • Any level: Students write a letter of application for a
job or send e-mail messages (real or simulated) to other English speakers around the world.
Conclusion
Students must be given what any writer needs, an understanding of their capacity to write, motivation, self-confidence and encouragement. They also need some response and feedback in positive and suitable way.
