Make Up:

One of my models will wear very natural make up, to fit the stereotype of indie music fans not mod-ifying their look to fit in with the majority, so my target audience can relate. Another will wear red lipstick to show that they are of high status and are professional in a photoshoot situation. This is also a feature that people associated with this genre are stereotyped to wear- especially against pale skin.

Costumes:

My models will wear items such as bomber jackets which hold connotations of the alternative genre. They will also wear boot style shoes such as Dr Martens and pair them with a variety of jeans/denim shorts and tights.

Props:

I will use props such as instruments in my photoshoot but in a minimalist way and probably not on the cover as I want the genre and style to be depicted by the artist and locations. From my re-search I can see that publications such as NME who feature many of the same artists that my magazine is inspired by, do not use props within their main cover images, especially if a band is featured. The genre promotes individuality therefore the artists themselves and clothes they wear show great charisma and promote the genre successfully with a higher degree of honesty.

An example of a message I sent to my models providing them with requests and information regarding my photoshoot.
