Although my target audience is slightly older than 15 my film will be rated a 15 so larger amounts of people are able to watch the film. Horror films are also often aimed at teenagers from 15-25 because younger people like thrills that the horror films provide, they are also less put off by supernatural or gory imagery, compared with an older audience.

Horror films are often aimed at the working class because they seek thrills for a relatively cheap price, middle and upper classes often watch sub-genres of horror films such as romance or psychological because they seek more from a film.

Women between the ages of 18-24 are the demographic who are most likely to watch a horror film, I am therefore going to aim my film at this demographic because it’s the most popular and will mean that my film will reach a much broader audience. My film is also likely to have a few elements of drama, so it is likely to appeal to this audience more.

People often watch horror films as couples or groups. Horror films are popular for both types because they often give people a good conversation topic after watching the film, it makes conversation easier with new couples or groups of friends.
