1. 2.How does your media productrepresent particular social groups? 2. Target Audience- Females My target are aged between 16-22 years old. The target audience has got limited amount of income due tostudying at college. They may have a part time job which gives thema little bit extra money and they dont rely on their parents to givethem money like most teenagers which puts them in the socialclassifications as a D or C2. That why they said they wanted thecollege magazine to be 2.50, which I have priced my magazinewhich came from the results of my magazine questionnaire. I have also used things they have asked to be put in my magazine.For example; I asked my target audience what is the best thing aboutcollege? I had a mixture of responds for females and males, forexample they like meeting new people or knowing what is going onaround college. I applied by writing cover lines that have thosethings in for my audience. 3. Target Audience The target has shown they buy magazines weekly or monthlydepending on that individual. This shows that there income is notgreat so they would buy magazines weekly or monthly so they canbuy things to enjoy, like music or clothing. My main image for my front cover is a representation of my targetaudience by having student model for the photograph. Thisrepresent what an every day college student looks likes. Its amedium close-up which is conventional for the front cover. Mymodel is female and so are my models for other images in mycontents and cover. I think it helps represent and target my femaleaudience but not by male since I have no images that have a malemodel in which is being biased towards one half of my targetaudience. 4. Target Audience- Male My target are aged between 16-22 years old. The VALS (Value Aspiration Lifestyle) of my audience includesvarious things from chess to sport. I have included a cover lineon my front page to represent the VALS that my target audiencehas, for example my male audience likes to play sports toconnect with my target audience. My audience like a vary ofdifferent magazines to read from ESPN Magazine to Empire, sohaving mixture of different cover lines, helps cover a wide rangeof topics in the magazine to represent the audience. My masthead is a representation of my target audience because itrelate to college which a lot of teenagers go through and also alot of people get inspired some way or another by college. 5. Target Audience The target audience has shown they buy magazines weekly/daily or monthly basis depending on that individual. Thisshows that there income is not great so they would buymagazines weekly or monthly so they can buy things to enjoy,like music or sport equipment. There social classification is C2to E which means my target audience is either unemployed orhas a low status in their jobs. There media consumption issimilar because both are likely to watch the TV show X Factorbut the people who are classed in the social classification as Eor D will also watch soaps on the television.
