Taiwan’s government is a multiparty democratic regime headed by popularly elected and unicameral legislature. The President is the head of state. The president has authority over the five administrative branches (Yuan):

• Taiwan’s power is distributed among five large brances of government called yuan: legislative yuan (National assembly), executive yuan, judicial yuan, and control yuan.

• Taiwan is still officialy a province of China. There is a largerly forgotten government with its capital at the village of chunghging in Taichung country. In 1997 Taiwan constitution was amended to reduce the provincial post. Taiwan was no longer a province of China but an independent nation.

• In 1991 , emergency rule , which lasted for 43 ended and unilaterally ended the state of war with China . Lee Teng - hui , deputy Chiang succeeded him in 1988. Lee is a native of Taiwan who served as the first president and he also became the first president of Taiwan's democratically elected in 1996 .

Then shifted from the central planned economy system of State ( Central planning economy) . Capitalism 's dynamic capitalistic economy to a market model. And now , using the market system , in which the economic system leads to a more dominant market capitalism and democracy Capitalism minimized in implementation.

Taiwan has a dynamic capitalist economy with gradually decreasing government guidance of investment and foreign trade. Exports, led by electronics, machinery, and petrochemicals have provided the primary impetus for economic development. This heavy dependence on exports exposes the economy to fluctuations in world demand.
